The AC-IR is a single switched outlet that can switch 15 amps of continuous current to a device or power strip. The AC-IR features a 30 amp relay with overvoltage protection to prevent the relay from creating high voltage spikes. The AC-IR is normally-off until an infrared signal is received to turn it on.The AC-IR includes an IR teaching function to teach learning remote systems. The AC-IR features seperate IR commands for ON and OFF, giving you complete control over the operation of the unit. The AC-IR is perfect for applications where a device must be powered up by a controlling system with an IR macro feature. This would include powering subwoffers, amplifiers, cassette decks, or other items which do not required power be maintained all the time.
An alternative to the AC-IR is the AC-2. The difference between the two units is in the IR receiving. The AC-IR has a receiver window. This means you can point a remote directly at the window and control the AC-IR. The AC-2 requires an outside IR sensor and hooks up to the IR repeater system just as an emitter would. |
