The RC-8-AVM series of audio/video switches come in both automatic and manual versions. Units start at 4 inputs (RC-8-41M) up to 16 inputs (RC-8-161M). We can also supply these units with video only or audio only switching.

Each automatic unit will sense the incoming signals and switch to the highest number input with a signal. The unit will sense both video and audio.

Each manual unit can be operated from the front panel pushbuttons or infrared remote or the RS-232 port. We also make keypads which can operate the unit up to 4000 feet away. The unit will teach it's remote codes to IR learning devices through an emitter (IRE) when it is plugged into the IR Remote jack on the back of the switcher.

You can get units with a number of different video options as well as connector options. The standard connectors are gold RCA, optional BNC for composite, Y/C (S-VHS), and RGB signals. Video signals supported are composite, Y/C (S-VHS), RGBs.

We also make a small automatic video only switch in a smaller package.  Look at AVM-6 for more information.

The RC-8-AVM features:

• 100 MHz bandwidth (can be used with PAL-SECAM-NTSC-HDTV signals)

• an RS-232 port

• IR remote controllable

• rack/non-rack package (2 rack units high)

Video Specifications:

• input: unbalanced, 1 vpp terminated into 75 ohms

• outputs: unbalanced, 1vpp terminated into 75 ohms

• 250 MHz bandwidth

• 0.05% delta gain

• 0.07° delta phase

Audio Specifications:

• input: unbalanced, 2 vpp terminated into 51,000 ohms

• outputs: unbalanced, 150 ohm impedance

• frequency response: 10 Hz to 100 kHz

• THD + noise: <0.005% 20 Hz to 20 kHz at 1 vpp reference

• stereo crosstalk:-100 dB at 1 kHz

In manual mode, the unit is controlled by the front panel, RS-232, RS-485 or infrared.
