The SI-2 series of automatic speakers switches allows two different audio amplifiers (i.e., a stereo television and a hi-fi system) to be connected to a single pair of loudspeakers. The SI-2 detects which source is delivering a signal and routes the signal to the speakers. This eliminates the need for extra speakers and/or running the stereo TV through the amps auxiliary input. The SI-2 is designed so that if both signals are present, the SI-2 will give priority to the amplifier on the Television connection. The SI-2 can be used in home systems where a local hi-fi system or TV will override a complete home audio system. In this application the whole house will fill with music, but when someone goes into a particular room and uses a local audio source, the SI will lock out the full house system when the local system is turned on. For added stability, the SI-2 features a video trigger connector which allows the SI-2 to be triggered to the B input by sensing the presence of a video signal.

What about car installations?

The SI is designed to be operated on 12 volts DC. This allows installations in automobile and marine applications running the SI off the battery. Simply remove the wall adapter supplied and connect into the DC battery power.
